Plaintiff Michael Lemmon is suing to stop the Trump administration’s illegal vanity arch. His heartfelt remarks highlight why this is so important to veterans and their families.

🚨 BREAKING: Harmeet Dhillon, Trump's handpicked DOJ Civil Rights chief, has RESIGNED following Democrats' historic midterm sweep. Dhillon gutted the Civil Rights Division, drove out career attorneys, and pursued some of Trump's most odious legal crusades. The exodus begins.

There is much to celebrate this week, but I want to call specific attention to historic gains Democratic women made in representation: - For the first time in history, over 100 Democratic women will serve in the U.S. House. - At least 16 Democratic women will serve in the Senate.

She can resign and move wherever she wants, but House Judiciary still needs to subpoena her and make her answer for all of this incredible fuckery. Do not "turn the page" on any of this shit, or we're going to be living through this same story the next time there's a Republican DOJ.

Dhillon was behind Trump’s failed election subversion attempts, notably with a humiliating string of 0-27 voter data grab court losses. This is a part of her permanent record. Humiliating election subversion defeats.

I wrote about what last night means for #SCOTUS, including whether Thomas or Alito will retire during the lame duck (no); whether the Court will now moderate its behavior (it *needs* to); and the consequences for the Court and the country if the justices continue to act as if they are above it all:

John Roberts is in a similar position to Owen Roberts in December 1936. Whether he’ll react the same way could say a lot about the Supreme Court’s future.

Last night, Americans made a clear call for accountability and affordability. A body politic cannot recover until its harms have been treated and its wounds have been healed. Crimes against our people and our Constitution must be answered for.

Houston Chronicle: He left his voting sticker at the place where ICE killed his dad. Hundreds more followed.

I see signs of a "let's make friends with fascists" movement among some Democrats. No. Dismantle the ICE gulag system. Take Christian nationalism out of the military. Stop White House bribe-taking Nationalize Elon Musk's businesses. Defeat the fascists. Maybe someday we can be friends. Not now.

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face.

'In 1860, an enslaved man named Sheppard Peek was listed among the possessions of William Peek, a white man in Crawfordville. His value was placed at $1,400. More than a century and a half later, Sheppard’s great-great-granddaughter, Keisha Lance Bottoms, was elected governor of Georgia.'

Keisha Lance Bottoms and the long road from Crawfordville to Governor’s Mansion

More than 160 years after her ancestors were enslaved in Georgia, the former Atlanta mayor has made history as the first Black woman elected governor.
