characters can and should be wrong. they can and should be unreliable narrators i don't just mean misunderstanding tropes, either, where things are weird for a bit and then resolved and they know everything. characters can and should have biased and what could be termed as "incorrect" perceptions

Almost finished with my novella’s synopsis’ How y’all feel about a novella inspired by ALIEN, Dead Space & TLOU, that has parasitic fungus aliens that reproduce both through hosts/taking over plant life. And the sequel is a dark romance where the love interest is a zombie alien plant.

Question: Should I change Amalthea’s name? Yes, she is a self-insert, but a separate from the sona I present online. Their appearances are vastly different, and have different last names (Sona: Amalthea V. Burgundy, OC: Amalthea Eve) I like it, but I wonder if it would be better for reader’s sake?

Explain your @ I.V was a reference to my old @, Ikari Veadric Even tho I changed my online name to Amalthea I still kept the I.V, cuz honestly I.V sounds better then A.V or V.A And Burgundy is a reference to a street I grew up on

Explain your @ I can't fully remember, but Veadric sorta came out of nowhere that I used as a demon half for my sona When I first made my @ I went by Ikari, which I used for a Warframe when I was into it Then I changed it to Amalthea, cuz it was almost my birth name inspired by The Last Unicorn

Arkos, Arum and Aidoneus were all characters that expanded way past their original ideas. Arkos was a one-off alien, now human & the MC for Veinguard Arum Aidoneus, previously Drirosis who’s character was just Amalthea’s hub Arum is practically the reason I’m making this story in the first place.
