A classroom in Azawagh, Niger : Most of the children here are from the inesliman community . Among the Inesliman there are groups who refuse modern school for religious reasons, and others who have accepted it, emphasizing the job opportunities it offers .

Two synonymous verbs in Tetserret, edbəl and əššigəm (to wait, to become, to return..) has cognat mostly in the Zenatic languages. Although the words have the w>b and s>s shifts of Western amazigh, tetserret likely borrowed them from Zenatic .

Tamajeq / Tetserret : - nawan = ənnetən = yours (mpl.) - nakmat = ənnetnet = yours (fpl.) * The Tetserret word has a cognate in Zenaga which appears only in some cases . So the generalization of ənnetən in Tetserret is maybe influenced by the Tadaksahak "andən" ?

Today at NACAL there was a fantastic talk by Massinissa Garaoun on pre-Hispanic toponomy in the Canary Islands. Based on extensive fieldwork, checking pronuniations and the topographical features the terms are connected to, he showed that there are many toponyms that are clearly...

Tamajeq / Tetserret : - ašu = ešb = drink ! - išwa = išba = he drank - iṣaṣṣu = ises = he is drinking - ad ašu = ad yešb = he will drink - teṣṣe = tšeši = drinking

Tetserret : - ifoš = he told - iffaš = he is telling - ad yofəš = he will tell, inform - ittəfaš = it was told, disclosed - təffəšt = the act of telling, praising - nəšfaš = information * This root FS is not common in modern Amazigh but its attested in the medieval dictionary of Ibn Tunart

The Tachelhit word Afgan and the Tetserret word Afagan that mean 'Human being , person' are ralated to this ancient amazigh word that means "to be slave" . A semantic shift similar to that of the Arabic word ɛabd

Vermondo Brugnatelli :
Some grammatical features of Ancient Eastern Berber (the language of the Mudawwana)

Tamajeq / Tetserret / Tadaksahak : - tukse = əkərora = korra = heat - təsməḍe = təšməddi = fufu = cold * əkərora and korra are probably related and maybe wonder if they could also be related to arabic الحرارة through the songhay . Arabic > Songhay > Tadaksahak/Tetserret ?

The negative meaning of the name ibarkorayan is used even by groups who call themselves ibarkorayan because it has become a Tamajeq word , especially to scold their children when they do silly things .

Why does ‘Dutch’ refer to the Low Countries, but ‘Deutsch’ to Germany? It’s because their ancestor denoted any vernacular continental West Germanic language. Only later did their meanings specify. Zoom in to read more – and to learn how ‘Teuton’, ‘Theodoric’, and ‘Derek’ are related as well:

As you all know, the Musulami were the important Gaetulian group to which Tacfarinas belonged. There may be one stela that commemorates a member of this group, RIL 808. It comes from the ruins of Sila in the region of Sigus, south of Constantine in Algeria, and looks like this ⬇️
