These principles are persuasive in *some* court rooms, and that's useful to people who have had their rights violated, *sometimes*, when they are able to get a hearing and get the court to accept the principle is in question and the violation happened in a jurisdiction that accepted the principle.

The only reason it continues to remain relevant is because people subjected to ongoing medical injustices appeal to a principle that's been established, and importantly they fucking kick off and make a stink about the violation of that principle.

People kicked off about medical trials on non consenting research subjects and eventually we won the helsinki declaration on medical ethics. There's no cop in the world in charge of enforcing the helsinki declaration. It's just a formalisation of the idea that you need medical consent for research.

The nature of human rights is that they are rarely upheld, and always need defending. We have them to the degree to which we are able to back up the demand for enforcing them, and when we fall short of that no matter what the law says on paper, it doesn't happen in reality. That's basic.

Bombshell new report out from my investigators this morning spanning our four year investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s financial records. This report shows exactly how Wall Street protected Epstein and enabled his sex trafficking for decades. Mega thread following with some key points:

Bluesky is a "liberal bubble" because fascist chuds can't get traction without algorithmic assistance and because people here trained themselves to block "debate me" trybois the instant they roll up

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

Read the Facebook comments written by Sandie Peggie, the transphobic & racist nurse currently being championed by TERFs. Then ask yourself: if you were a person with Pakistani heritage and you were in hospital, would you feel happy & confident being looked after by this woman?

6/ It’s quite fascinating that despite the defendant not saying the claimant are conversion therapists and competitors the court still reached a similar conclusion simply because the claim is too bizarre.

5/ I can see they attempted to circumvent this by playing the (imaginary) victim, and it might just be a coincidence that this narrative aligns perfectly with their ideological position. However, at a more fundamental level, these conversion therapists are competitors to puberty blocking treatments

3/ The presumption referred to in the judgment is statutory. This is very much analogous to a scenario where someone opposes planning permission, but somehow argues that the developer will regret building a house and therefore interim relief should be granted.

2/ It is a very strong finding of fact, and it has to do with whether someone can pretend to be acting in the interests of another party while clearly acting against them. The Court of Appeal would not interfere with it.

We’ve just rented a projector so the kids can watch some films over August and we’re trying to source and buy treats and snacks. Ionad Hind Rajab is about more than education. It’s about getting back a little bit of childhood. 👇

An Irish artist has helped establish a children's centre in Gaza that provides food, education and psychosocial support to children displaced by the war. Adam Doyle, better known as Spicebag, tells us why he helped create Ionad Hind Rajab. jrnl.ie/7117887

This country was persecuting people for speaking their own languages (languages of this fucking island!!) in living memory, while people who had their languages taken were sent off to colonise others. Fuck Nazis, fuck fascism, fuck its weird death grasp on "folk" forms.

Strange not a single defender has been able to post what they think are "witty" Liddle's best quotes. Almost as if in the cold light of day, they are just the bigoted rantings of an boorish alcoholic paid by Murdoch to punch down on the weak. Like Rush Limbaugh, he'll be all but forgotten.

He championed so many reprehensible policy positions in his writing, he was rampantly racist. This is the wages in death of a man who wanted to make the world unsafe for others, like Charlie Kirk and Ann Widdecombe, they used their positions to target the most vulnerable.

It's no surprise I disagreed with his opinions, but he was actually that bad at writing that it was painfully clear that anyone who liked his work simply agreed with those opinions - or hated the people they'd annoy - and thus found it perfectly delicious someone had finally typed them up.

Haters focusing on Liddle's violence toward his pregnant partner, his galloping racism, or his repeated defences of paedophilia, should remember to mention he was also one of the worst writers to ever do it. A calorie-free hack of the first water. Just absolute dogshit, back to front.
