For those that haven't checked it out yet, I have had a KoFi for a while, but actively started to use it. Currently I have two shorts up on there for people to read, and this weekend, I will be sharing the first Chapter of Humanity's Grave as a teaser for it. Go check it out

Analysts estimate that 70%+ of Microsoft, Google and Amazon's present and future AI revenues are from Anthropic and OpenAI's compute spend and model sales. Outside of two unsustainable AI labs, demand barely exists, and they've massively overbuilt capacity. www.wheresyoured.at/the-ai-deman...

Against a black background, 3 books titled How to Save an Ancient Hero, How to Soothe a Fallen Hero, and How to Forge a Modern Hero by Jeremy Rayne. Text reads: smut with a side of patient kindness; a legendary hero, traumatized and tired; elves, humans, a smoking-hot red guy; age gap: 200 yo + a guy from before they invented measuring time; absolutely did not write this entire series as a tribute to Thranduil.

ok come on man not only is the New York Times transphobic it's also very clearly trash and specifically biased toward republicans in several other ways. You're not funding amazing investigations here you're funding the vehicle through which conservative ideas get laundered to the public

Those two examples are very different. I pay $15 a month for the NYT. How much am I contributing to the anti-trans cause, and how many amazing investigations am I supporting? Vs paying $300 for a Harry Potter The Musical ticket or $39 for a Dumbledore wand? These are not the same.

I have concerns about Amnesty at this stage; these organisations are anti-rights. They are engaged in pushing the boundaries of the law, using lawfare and actively disseminating misinfo about trans people, all with the goal of pushing us out of public life. For Amnesty to cave because of threats

Amnesty have issued an apology to JK Rowling and the rest. Adjust your expectations, and donations, accordingly www.amnesty.org.uk/latest/an-ap...

Amnesty UK have apologised to JK Rowling for rightfully calling out her anti-rights rhetoric. Shame on them. A human rights organisation should not cave to pressure from billionaires, especially those who wish to make supporting human rights a terrorist offence. xoxo BASH BACK

We are disappointed to see Amnesty withdraw their report on transphobia after legal threats from JK Rowling. This is further proof we cannot rely on 'allies' to fight for US,

Our work has been so effective that Rowling has called for us to be proscribed as a terrorist group, but we're still fighting. We’ll only win trans liberation by fighting for it ourselves.

Don't wait for 'allies' to step in and save us; take action now!

Let’s be clear: what these bastards are doing to these books isn’t digitizing. Digitizing is about preservation and access to the original material. They’re gutting and destroying to make Soylent Green. Don’t let them get away with pretending to do this for humanitarian reasons.

I have to say, the final scenes of Humanity's Grave, are my favourite. It is the existentialism of it all, the staring down the very end of the world, staring down the endless possibilities, and what can come next. It is the culmination of the novel, i will need to check the manuscript.

Got told i was wrong by an AI bro, and it forced me to go and grab my masters thesis just to be able to quote Folsom v Marsh, just to prove my point. This is the point of contention i want to make, if the book is destroyed and the only way to access the information

MJ Quigley@mjqwrites.bsky.social · 7d ago

It is not inaccurate, my masters thesis followed the taxonomy of fair use and its parallels over in europe. Folsom v Marsh, which is the foundation US case on Fair use, made the point that you have to consider the value and nature of the selections made from the work and then, if the resulting work

GenAI defenders are so wierd, they seem obsessed with protecting capitalism but also sit their trying to make anticapitalist arguments as to why Anthropic destroying loads of books is good actually, and calling people luddites for not wanting to use the infinite plagarism machine
