Everyone wants to yell at Democrats or "the left" but the plain fact is that Republicans are the only ones with the power to immediately save us from this nightmare. Every day they choose not to do so.

It's one thing for most of the experience and knowledge I gained from writing and reporting on art for *three years* to just slowly leak out of my brain. But it's so much worse to think about all the gov folks laid off at USAID, NIH, FDA, and the EPA or the media folks at CBS and the Washington Post

So many people with 10, 15, even 20+ years of experience in government service, scientific research, beat reporting, software engineering or other specialized fields are still struggling to find new jobs in Canada and the US. Some people have been applying to full-time jobs for over a year.

The MAHA Administration has: -allowed coal plants to spew toxic methylmercury -worsened climate change -dismantled public health & driven up sickness/death from infections -rolled back food safety -cut funding to Gavi, which will lead to an estimated 600,000 child deaths We do not “need” MAHA

A lot of people in public health believe that MAHA is “nothing more than a subversive anti-vaccine, anti-science syndicate,” but the movement is an opportunity that the public-health sector “cannot afford to squander,” Craig Spencer argues:

Our analysis shows that the measles virus seen in Utah as recently as May is very closely related to one that circulated in Texas a year ago. Given our findings, one expert said it’s going to be difficult for the U.S. to prove measles isn’t endemic: https://propub.li/4vKYjs3

A comparison of eight measles virus DNA sequences with 12 genetic letters each. The first sequence is labeled "Texas, May '25," and the rest are labeled as Utah and dated between June '25 to May '26. The sequences for "Texas, May '25" and "Utah, June '25" are identical, and the first five letters of all sequences stay the same. After the "Utah, June '25" sequence, each sequence gains one to two mutations from the previous sequence listed.
