such a pleasure to see Prem Kapoor's BADNAM BASTI / बदनाम बस्ती (1971) at the Eye Filmmuseum today. a wonderfully experimental gem of parallel cinema with a dastardly bisexual bandit at its centre. fragmented form mirrors fragmented desires in a world of relentless cruelty & fleeting tenderness

the death of Jason Arday was an entirely forseeable and avoidable outcome of all this, all debates about university recruitment processes are rendered trivial in its wake because what has happened is some racists sensed a cultural victory and pursued it relentlessly to the point that a man is dead

Q for media studies academics: Do you have an internet/digital media-specific track or major for BA students? And if so, what is it called? And if you like, how's it going in terms of popularity/satisfaction?

hearing jacob's talk about bisexual cinema at sqiff several years ago was sooo influential to my thinking and rly opened my eyes to the limits and possibilities of bisexual representation in art–i'm excited to get his book and you should get it too!!
