You will be a government minister while The Government asks service providers to segregate Teraina Hird because she is trans. bsky.app/profile/sara...

Today, @commonswec.parliament.uk will be questioning the EHRC on the new code of practice. It's important we remind ourselves that trans people across the country are simply trying to exist freely. I am very grateful to those in Luton North who have been kind enough to share their stories with me.

@amnestyuk.bsky.social if you don’t stand up to these gender critical attacks then what are you for? Why exist? Can’t you see with your own eyes that this organised and financed attack is exactly what your report warned about?

Has Farage actually resigned? He said "today I will resign as a Member of Parliament" yesterday. He is still listed as the member for Clacton.

Even with the most generous interpretation of the £5m "gift", Christopher Harborne now does have leverage against Farage as a matter of fact. He could release a statement tomorrow saying "it was a bribe for X", and use the threat of that against Farage. That's why we have these rules.

🧵For the many people who have been subjected to horrific practices of abuse, just because of who they are or who they love, this will be a bittersweet day. Bitter because despite cross party working, it is long overdue - but sweet because there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. 1/3

Another manifesto commitment thrown away. The Labour 2024 manifesto said "so-called conversion therapy is abuse". This bill now says "Actually, it's only abuse in these narrow circumstances which is effectively never". Screenshot from their 2024 manifesto:

A screenshot from the Labour 2024 manifesto. It says "So-called conversion therapy is abuse – there is no other word for it – so Labour will finally deliver a full trans-inclusive ban on conversion practices, while protecting the freedom for people to explore their sexual orientation and gender identity."

Conversion practices draft bill Action by the NHS (or any healthcare professional) is excluded unless it "falls far below the standards reasonably expected".

Screenshot from the draft conversion practices bill. it says "(3) Conduct which—

(a) is carried out by a person towards an individual with such an intention, but
(b) is carried out in the course of providing health care services to the individual concerned,
is not a conversion practice unless the person acts in a way that falls far below the standards reasonably expected of a person in their position".

Just 1 more Labour MP (83 right now) is needed to wipe out their working majority in the Commons. Then this government will be effectively passing this code of practice due to conservative and reform support!

EDM 240, to reject the EHRC’s harmful guidance, is now at 153 signatures after the minister’s appearance before the Women and Equalities Committee defending it edm.parliament.uk/early-day-mo...

Marcus Bell: We *do* have a functioning gender recognition process, although it's been moderated of course by the SC judgement. Moderated? Moderated?? I thought we never had those rights to begin with??? such REVEALING language

Access single sex services. can I just say that was one of the most infuriating and insulting things I've ever heard on my fucking life. Literally how dare she. How fucking dare she, absolutely odious, poisonous individual speaking out of both sides of her bloody mouth
