I've been seeing a lot of complaints lately about Target canceling preorders for action figures (mostly Transformers and GI Joe), and while I generally feel for my fellow collectors, I'm having a hard time mustering up much sympathy for anyone who's still shopping at Target.
I've been self-employed since before gen-A.i was a thing. I've never used it a day in my life. If it disappeared off the face of the Earth, it wouldn't affect my work at all (and would probably make my life better, since my eyes wouldn't be subjected to the slop currently permeating social media)

The Meijer I do most of my grocery shopping at got all new carts. They're black instead of blue now (and don't have the colored coating peeling off). It felt a little weird to do my shopping with a cart where all 4 wheels rolled smoothly, in the same direction, and turned when I wanted them to.
I was talking about this recently, but Val wouldn't need to write her memoirs. Her people have a proud tradition of musical theater-as-oral history, so, as queen, her entire life story, down to the finest detail, will already be preserved in that medium. #AwesomeCharacters

James Lynch@jamesblynch.bsky.social · 3d agoWell, this is an unforeseen setback. I messaged my usual beta readers about my newest novel that I'm ready to have other people take a look at and they've left me on read all day (they're not the type of people who'd usually do that).
Tomorrow is the last day to file for a special election replacing McConnell in Kentucky, so I expect sometime after Five o' clock tomorrow night he might suddenly pass away due to complications from a fall he suffered some weeks back.
