At the age of 19, with no forward planning or deep consideration, just on a whim because it felt right, I asked my girlfriend of 11 days to marry me, and she shockingly said yes. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary this year.

93% of the perpetrators are men. 73% of victims are women. This means that even when men are victims, men are still largely the perpetrators are also men. When women are perpetrators it is often in self defence.
