I continue to be appalled at the lack of accountability around the SLAPP case that targeted me. If I can get sued for saying a warlord sanctioned by the EU, UK, and US for his role in Wagner is involved with Wagner then can we really say there's any protection for journalists in the UK from SLAPPs?

The SRA discontinued @eliothiggins.bsky.social complaint against Discreet Law who represented the warlord Prigozhin. Too many questions remain, so that is why the UK Anti-SLAPP Coalition has written to the regulator. Read the letter here: antislapp.uk/2025/03/28/q... #stopSLAPPs 1/3

This is not neutral ‘peacekeeping’ that has anyway a bad reputation everywhere. Besides, when the West has been heavily arming Ukraine, Russia will understandably not accept Western boots on ground. No more than West accepting N.Korean & Iranian boots on other side. aje.io/ep3m8q

A ‘coalition of the willing’ thrashes out how to enforce peace in Ukraine

#UK police received 1st report that Mugambe was holding a "slave" in Feb '23. Mugambe got a visa for the young woman, alleging she'd be paid/employed by the #Uganda Embassy's Deputy High Commissioner, but picked her up from airport & drove her to Oxfordshire, forcing her to work as a nanny & maid.

Lydia Mugambe, appointed as a judge to the #UN’s residual mechanism for the #ICTR and #ICTY in 2023, has been convicted in a #UK court of breaching immigration law by keeping a young 🇺🇬 woman “slave” in her house, forcing her to work as a maid. Mugambe is still listed on the IRMCT website.

#Duterte is in the custody of the #ICC - accused of the crimes against humanity of murder, torture, and rape. For all the criticisms (including my own) of the prosecutor’s strategy of ‘performatively’ going after big names - not many would have predicted this. www.icc-cpi.int/news/situati...

We only rate dogs. This is a very cuddly croissant. We understand the confusion between puppies and pastries, but please only send dogs. Thank you... 12/10

a spectacular crescent of golden-brown wrinkles is laying atop a soft, lime green blanket. each of the precious rolls from one end to the other no doubt came from an elaborate and precise lamination process and not just a casual plop. some might see what they believe is a shar pei puppy, but that can’t be it.

Following cuts to USAID, the scholarships of 82 Afghan women pursuing further education in Oman have been ended and they face returning to Afghanistan. I wrote to the Education Secretary urging her to work with UK universities to see if the students could continue their studies here.
