Like even if you were to successfully move Paramount out of California (and all other states involved in this lawsuit)… WB would still remain largely in CA and under Bonta's derestriction. Unless you're also planning to somehow convince WB to move all of it's multi-state operations with you...

Plus, by moving your operations to the middle of nowhere, you'd basically be cutting off most of your contacts and resources that have long been established in LA and New York, and would make the 30-films a year you keep promising EVEN more expensive.

Plus, you know Paramount and WB aren't just in CA right? They're multi-national corporations - with offices and divisions in MULTIPLE states. So in order to completely avoid this lawsuit, you'd have move ALL YOUR OPERATIONS out of ALL 12 STATES that are suing you.

… because unless you're going to be like Walt Disney in the '60s and use dummy-corporations to buy up useless land (which you've kind of already blown by announcing these plans publicly), once realters find out a major company like Paramount is moving in, THEY'RE GONNA JACK UP THE PRICE!

Like, most of the major Hollywood studio backlots were built over 100 years ago, when Los Angeles was mostly just a no-name Podunk farming town out west and land there was dirt cheap. GOOD LUCK trying to re-establish that nowadays without plunging even FURTHER into debt...

Firstly, both Paramount and WB are over 100 year old movie studios with HUGE backlots, soundstages, equipped with vital filmmaking faculties. They're not carnivals, you can't just pack them up and move to another state. You'd have to sell off the lot, and re-build a brand new one from scratch.

You know... there's A LOT of problems with Gone with the Wind (1939) - and POC have criticized it since Day 1... and for valid reasons. BUT the opening to Atun-She Films' latest video on the film PERFECTLY sums up WHY it resonated with so many people (particularly women) back in the day.

This is the best possible news we could've gotten. This merger would've been a disaster and I'm glad it got thrown the biggest hurdle possible. Let's hope it keeps getting thrown pit traps so that way it never gets through and dies. Either way, massive sigh of relief.

The Paramount and Warner Bros merger is officially on hold. The merger will not move forward until June 1, 2027 OR until the courts provide a ruling on the lawsuits facing the merger.
