Just heard about Netflix shutting down Night School, and that sucks. Oxenfree was great. I talked to the founders, Adam Hines and Sean Krankel, a couple of times, and they were great (and really optimistic after the acquisition, go figure). Real bummer news.
The original X-Factor run is also a good time, but for whatever reason, I classify that as something different than "O5 X-Men" in my brain, I guess because they're all grown up at that point.

There are rumors that Marvel will reveal the core X-Men cast at D23, and that the movie will focus on the original five X-Men. Don't know if there's any truth to that, but to get ahead of the deluge of "O5 X-Men Comics You Should Read" online lists, let me promise you it's these 4 and only these 4:

live nation is actively killing publications that cover new artists while also promoting festivals that almost exclusively cater to nostalgia and legacy acts. these problems are not unrelated.

Jamie Lovett@jamielovett.bsky.social · 2w agoFWIW, many DS fans say they like it because Athas allows for shades of grey and evil characters to exist more easily within a party. I've always thought that that was bullshit and wrongheaded. The point of a setting where evil has won isn't to be evil; it's to fight evil anyway.
I am probably reading too much into publicity material, but describing Dark Sun in this way feels like a good early sign as it is coming out in an era where "existing is an act of resistance" has become an actual kind of mantra for some folks.
