This is an important caveat for all councils looking to improve cycle networks to reduce motorised traffic/pollution. Repeated thefts discourage bicycle ownership. Insist on built-in cycle garages for new build high rises and plan bicycle hangars along with other infrastructure.

A reminder for any Clacton resident with health issues. Insurance companies don't take on bad risks. For health insurance, that would be people who look likely to need hospital care or expensive drugs. They will also drop insured people who become high risk (cancer diagnosis, heart problems etc.)
If there are Seven Wonders of the Cycling World, Beijing's Shangdi–Huilongguan Highway deserves a place on the list. The 5.4 km elevated expressway is designed so riders can cycle its entire length without stopping; cutting their commute to 30 minutes—halving the rush hour travel time by car/metro.
