Abundant housing. Justice. Dismantling oppression. Mpls politics. Observations from Zürich. She/her.

Two examples of Scandinavia using space under elevated concrete for parks. On the left, a fountain spilling into Oslo's Akerselva under a freeway. On the right, a playground / garden / seating in Copenhagen under a tramway.

A square placid pool of water under a concrete freeway reflects green from the park behind into the shaded space.A newly planted and installed park under a pair of concrete elevated strips. There are silver reflective semi circles, benches, and in the distance climbing equipment all installed on fresh-looking wood-brown ground cover. There are planting areas tucked in every corner, and some extensive not-yet-filled-in gardens.

I hope cities like #Zürich who are just starting to build bikeways follow Copenhagen's lead and plan bike spaces scaled for future demand. This one gives 2/3 of the space to people riding and walking and 1/3 to drivers. There's 20 people biking or walking for each car on this bridge.

A wide concrete bridge over train tracks. On the left there is one lane in each direction for cars and trucks, then a barrier. On the right are biking lanes in each direction - both wider than either of the car lanes - and then an ample sidewalk before the far right has countless bike parking spots. Two cars are on the bridge. Roughly 40 people are walking or biking on the bridge.

Public services are among the most important daily interactions citizens have with the state. Enjoy this beautiful visualization of the morning “explosion” of Swiss public transportation 🚂🚃: Within just 4.5 hours, the number of active public transport connections rises from 0 to 6,488 (source: SRF)

In Minnesota, girls sell lemonade on the street to help their sisters arrested by ICE. Stephen Miller’s goons are very much still here. Sign reads, “Please help us raise money for my sisters because they were arrested by ICE” & this has been confirmed by trusted community members.
