I have also seen the statement Stella refers to, and I believe Karch has just destroyed any chance of financial success for that game…which kinda makes wonder if he's up for the job of CEO. 🤣
Hey everybody. I’ve seen the statement by Matt Karch, the CEO of Saber Entertainment, and all of the truly horrendous things he said about me. I think it should be obvious to anyone who reads that statement that he’s lashing out because he did not want people to know there was AI use in the game.
These billionaires disgust me. Truly. If I found a billionaire in the desert begging for a mere teaspoon of water, and I was driving a literal water delivery truck, I would think long and hard before giving them a single drop.
If you have enough money that you can blow $100,000,000 on avoiding taxes, you have enough money to pay $100,000,000 *on* taxes that will help your fellow citizens, you self-centered prick.
The best antidote to toxic masculinity is… …non-toxic masculinity. These days, I'm the most fit & sporty I've ever been in my entire life…able to ride miles and miles up and down hills on my bike on the regular. I've also stopped caring about "manliness" altogether. Coincidence? Uh, nope. 😅
Don't get me wrong, I lift every morning. But being a man is not really about how you show up in the gym. It's how you show up for your family. It's about how you show up for your community.
Mark, hundreds of millions of people are trying to survive on $3 a day & you are hawking this like data centers aren’t taking food out of their very mouths?!
If you believe this shit, I have a metaverse to sell you.
Sailboats on the Willamette. This was right before all the wildfire smoke rolled into the region, and I'm so thankful we're having clear and cooler weather once more. 😌 #SilentSunday #Portland #PDX #PNW #river
Saw this hat at the always delightful Memory Den Vintage Mall. Anybody know something about the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival? This design is so-o-o 90s! 😂
I generally agree…virtually all my podcast listening is just that: listening. However, I might tune into YouTube from time to time for this podcast which just started. It's not hyperbole when I say Portlandia remains my all-time FAVORITE comedy show! www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIkr...

Dude with legs of steel and sweat on his brow pushing an pure mechanical device uphill on nothing but his own grit and power: woke libtard Beer-bellied lazy ass with AC on letting cruise control handle the drivetrain of his overly-priced mancave-on-wheels: tough sex machine Make it make sense!! 🤪
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing half the population that the "manly" way to get around is on a giant rolling couch controlled by gently depressing your toe.
OK I'm trying out the witchsky.app frontend now for Bluesky. Seems pretty nice so far…especially the choice of color themes!
Witchsky

I asked this on Mastodon, but it's only fair I ask here too. Since I am told ATProto is decentralized, how do I migrate my account & posts & everything to another service not controlled in any way by Bluesky corp? The only alternative I'm aware of is Blacksky, but are there any others I've missed?
Yesterday, a glorious moment walking along the north end of the #Portland riverfront, and signs that spring has well and truly arrived. 🙌 #PDX #Bridge #SilentSunday
Welp, now blocking the CTO of Bluesky for promoting slopaganda. Folks, if you don't want to spend all your time on a social network being coded by slopagandists and prompt junkies (via “Claude Code” etc.), can I highly recommend joining a *far* better social network? ☺️ https://jointhefediverse.net
No one wants to use AI—we know that this is a technology in search of an actual use or a "killer app," as they used to say in Silicon Valley, that will attract users to their platform. AI finally found their user base: fascist governments. And this time, the killer app actually kills.
US military reportedly used Claude in Iran strikes despite Trump’s ban
Trump calls Anthropic a ‘Radical Left AI company run by people who have no idea what the real World is all about’

Tech companies: We're going to spend billions of dollars on "AI" datacenters. Real people: And our kids can still walk to school safely, right? Tech companies: No. This is the reality of today's U.S. politics. It makes my brain bleed… 😵💫
This weekend, the latest proposal to fill the large gap in Oregon's transportation budget was released. It includes devastating cuts to Safe Routes to School funding which helps make walking, rolling, & biking safe & accessible for students through investments in crossings, sidewalks & bike lanes.
And a new game emerges! I'll get things started: * Journalism is better when it's backed by live banjo. * Journalism is better when it's backed by live eels. Now it's your turn! Journalism is better when it's backed by live __________.

Samuel the Alternate Man is on the fast track to turning his company into one of the most lothed & reviled in mainstream tech consciousness. OpenAI will go down in history as a blatent example of corporate cowardice & greed, one nearly unparalleled on the world stage.
Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war.
Some other recommendations: * The Boy in the Bubble (Graceland, Paul Simon) * In the Air Tonight (Face Value, Phil Collins) * Conditioning (Human's Lib, Howard Jones) * Who Needs Love Like That (Wonderland, Erasure) * Look Out Any Window (Scenes from the Southside, Bruce Hornsby)
From "Gimme Shelter" to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to "Plainsong," the greatest album opening tracks share one thing in common: they make everything that follows feel inevitable. zurl.co/ZbW6N
In 2019, the economic costs of US car crashes totaled $340 billion. This is equivalent to $1,035 for each of the 328 million people living in the US, & 1.6% of the 2019 GDP. Including quality-of-life valuations, the total value of societal harm from motor vehicle crashes was nearly $1.4 trillion.
Because of the National driver register, since their licenses are suspended, trans folks cannot move to another state and get a new license until they remove the suspension on their existing Kansas license. They can't even escape this by moving to another state.
Kansas is sending letters to trans people telling them that their licenses will be revoked as of tomorrow and that they risk arrest for driving on a suspended license. This is pure cruelty. www.erininthemorning.com/p/kansas-sen...
OK. I don't know if this is a Portland thing or a post-COVID thing or a "these days" thing but there's something lacking in cowork culture here. I felt a more vibrant creative indie cowork space culture in bedroom communities of suburban CA mid-2010s than today in Portland. And I can't explain why.
just spitballing but some of it might have something to do with 15 years of sociopathic behavior culminating in the enthusiastic embrace of violent fascism
Tech CEOs Confused by Why Everybody Hates AI So Much
With public sentiment on AI resoundly negative, the tech CEOs pushing the new tech only seem to be doubling down.

Yeah, I'm watching "Donald Trump" tonight! …as played by Sebastian Stan in "The Apprentice" 😂 I saw this was on a free streamer and didn't get a chance to see it before, so figured it was worth a shot.
