This feels like a very meaningful result for a) the left's relationship with black voters; b) its relationship with unions (JLG racked up endorsements that nycdsa only dreams of); ramping up the DC statehood fight (trump is not gonna be normal about this)

There were some ugly claims on X that Janeese was the candidate of white “transplants” while McDuffie was the choice of longtime Black residents. But it looks like McDuffie will only win ward 3 (wealthy, white) while Janeese will carry every other ward (including majority-Black wards 7 and 8).

This is such an important point about speed cameras. We have overwhelming data that the vast majority of drivers quickly learn where they are and adjust their driving habits to avoid getting ticketed. This makes them a bad way to generate ticket revenue but a super effective way to reduce speeding

I don't mean to sound extreme, but I think union-busting is something that people controlled by demons do
