Lee Anderson has come out as an ardent Dad's Army fan. Spent yesterday posing with a statue of Arthur Lowe, aka Captain Mainwaring himself. Fun fact. Lowe was very pro EEC. Championed the "Yes" campaign during 1975 referendum. Appeared on posters encouraging voters to stay in Europe.

If early release can be altered so as to exempt homicide offences, it should be. Prisoners who have caused the gravest harm should be among the last to benefit from the overcrowding crisis. But carving out exceptions for individual prisoners in response to media campaigns is weak and unprincipled.

Sky News is broadcasting live a Reform UK media conference led by Nigel Farage. But Farage is a candidate in a byelection. But Sky News is not giving equal exposure to the other candidates in Thursday's byelection. Surely Sky News is breaking media impartiality rules?
