All the hysteria and rhetoric that consumed a community around these bike lanes ended and now no one talks about them and people use them (including those with mobility devices) all the time for work, school, play and everything in between. Change is hard for some people but we all adapt.

In the fall of 2003, my two daughters Rachel and Robyn visited some friends in Galaxy, Virginia. Here is Robyn on her first two wheel bike. Yes, the bike had training wheels on it very briefly! Many years later, I donated that to Community Bikes in Charlottesville, Virginia...

This is one of the most useless gifts Trump has received. He hasn't ridden a bicycle since he was 7 or 8 years old. He has expressed an aversion because of risk of his falling or getting hurt. This is not so for Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Pete Buttigieg and others. I wonder where the bicycle is now?

Given the data I have seen so far, a 2°C increase maybe optimistic for 2027. A super El Niño will reduce the number of Eastern hurricanes because of wind sheer. However, that may contribute to higher Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean surface temperatures. What affect the AMOC may have who knows?

A teenager was struck and killed by an SUV while riding his bike in Lower Manhattan today and the comments in the local press stories are unhinged. People rushing to blame the CHILD for riding a bike, not the person driving an SUV on inner city streets. People have lost their damn minds.
