We need more teams to be objectively bad so more guys like Eddys get opportunities like this (sincerely)
After more than 3,000 plate appearances in the Minor Leagues, Eddys Leonard has his first MLB hit! 😄

Have to keep Bryse Wilson and his Making Joey Ortiz Good powers on the 25-man, sorry Grant
Milwaukee Brewers optioned RHP Grant Anderson to Nashville Sounds.
One other note on Antonio Senzatela. Here is is posing for a photo with the grounds crew after learning he’d been traded.
Too busy trying to build capital to buy the Green Bay Packers, I assume
Freddy Peralta doesn’t exist, he’s a psyop by the woke baseball media, just like Babe Ruth
Soto should have gone all the way with the denial and claimed Peralta never played for the Mets.
lol the Dodgers traded for a guy who gives up home runs to Dansby Swanson
The meme potential here is massive, trade is a win already

Someone asked me how I think the lockout is gonna go. I gave my best stab. I think it'd take a major change in the way the sides usually operate for me change my mind about this. Also: public opinion doesn't matter and "fans' rights" are not a thing. www.cupofcoffeenews.com/cup-of-coffe...
This is the New Phillies Order, brother
Don Mattingly indicated everything is possible in New Phillies Order. Harper could be lifted for defense late in games. He might not. Stott and Bohm could end up back at their normal positions if subs are needed. Arraez could play first if needed. There are no rules.

Confirmation that the Brewers offered at least one prospect better than Hope (Luis Peña) and at least one, maybe two, other Top 100 prospect bats. That would certainly seem to be a stronger offer, but the Tigers wanted a pitcher as part of the deal.
Lots of great notes in this @adammccalvy.bsky.social newsletter on the Brewers' potential prospect offer for Tarik Skubal: www.mlb.com/brewers/news...
Look, I’m not super optimistic about the Brewers making the World Series this year, but what would “go for it” even look like once Skubal was off the board? Trading a bunch of Top 100 prospects for more SP3s who aren’t any better than what they already had?
Maddening narrative from the Athletic newsletter this morning. They traded two of their top 20 prospects including one in some top 5s!
I think if you want to be fairly generous with your assessment of the Brewers at the deadline, it’s that they may know this team’s chances at a World Series aren’t good if the middle of their lineup is doing this and nobody who was available was changing that
Coming into tonight, Brewers No. 3 hitter Christian Yelich has a .670 OPS since June 1 and cleanup hitter William Contreras had a .693 since June 1. Both 0-for-4 tonight.
Codi Heuer wins this year’s Dinelson Limet Award
Milwaukee Brewers traded RHP Codi Heuer to Baltimore Orioles for cash.
Gonna be great when the Brewers go 0-12 against the Pirates this year and knock the Dodgers out of the playoffs
Maybe something we see in September when you get an extra pitcher on the roster, but right now the lessons Sproat needs to learn can only really be taught as a starter in the majors
What about moving sproat to the pen now and let gasser be that 6th man in the rotation. Gives Murphy another multi inning arm there and hopefully take some of those innings from Ashby.
I kinda think the Brewers might think the same and that would help explain the presence of JoJo Romero
I can talk myself into everyone except DL Hall. I might prefer Sproat over DL Hall
Pirates got a bunch of relievers at the deadline, so you know what that means: One last blown lead tonight with the old band, as a treat for the diehards. Rock on brothers. Give up those five runs in the eighth
Pat Murphy had some eye-opening comments about the Brewers' involvement with a Tarik Skubal deal: “It isn't as simple as, 'That's a better package.' It's not as simple as that. There's a lot more, a lot more layers to it. To say the Brewers didn’t try is simply incorrect.”
The Brewers are acquiring Antonio Senzatela from the Rockies for LHP Mark Manfredi and SS Juan Martinez, per Mark Feinsand
Jake Bauers on newly acquired Dustin May, who nearly no-hit them: “He cut us up pretty good a couple times. I’m sure our pitching coaches are excited to get a hold of him. Sinker’s good. Four seamer has good angle. Sweeper seems like it’s coming from left-center.”
This is a fun one to look back on, and not just because of Brett 40 Hands
One of my favorite trade deadline memories is when the Brewers traded Brett Lawrie for Shaun Marcum. Marcum did well to get the Brewers to a deep playoff run (where his arm promptly fell off), but all anyone wanted to talk about was how much of a tragedy it was that the Brewers traded Lawrie away.
