A very positive sign that, nearly a year after Kirk's death, many if not most of the people punished for speaking truthfully about him have won legal cases against their former employees and compensation. Again, panicked compliance with Trumpism has only *cost* institutions.

Remembering how during the Claudine Gay scandal, one of its biggest promoters of the story was Bill Ackman. Then someone uncovered that Ackman's own wife was a professor alleged to have committed much more serious academic misconduct than Gay and then nothing happened to her.

I'm beginning to frame a unified theory of moral panics—which is: You can start wars or raise tariffs 100% and it's NBD, but any change that threatens the cultural status of middle-aged journalists and academics is an Unforgivable Crime that we will have to discuss for the next 20 years.
