Same goes for domestic violence, no guy believes his buddy hits women, but the stats say differently. And I say this as someone who has been falsely accused of both. The SA was because she regretted cheating on her bf, the DV was because she was mad I was dumping her and kicking her out of my house.

I hope you’re sitting down for this. The shooter at the In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho that killed 3 people and injured 2 people is a Republican, white male, and prob a born again christian. I’m as shocked as you are.

olive consumer@machete.gay · 2w agoWhile people are still posting about The Odyssey, I would offer a recommendation for Jonathan Shay's Odysseus in America as an excellent book about PTSD. It is, as most books on combat trauma are, about veterans, but it is a useful text for much more.
I really can't get over this. It started dawning on me around the Circe stuff and then it hit like an absolute ton of bricks a few times after. It's basically an adaptation of this one, specific work.
