Genuinely wondering why this book is classed as #YA when none of her others are. I bought it automatically without noticing the genre, and honestly other than being shorter I don't really see the difference. (I love it, just like her others.) 💙📚🩸

My brother doesn't remember the Milford Plaza commercial and now I'm questioning my entire childhood. I don't know what it is about that commercial. It has lived rent-free in my head for almost 40 years.

I mean sure, great that you're doing the right thing NOW, but the time to do that was when the horrific thing first occurred, not after a national outcry forced your hand. Now it's not right, it's just damage control.

Today is a FABULOUS day for book releases. I got three preorder notifications in my email this morning! I love Tuesdays. 💙📚

So there's this weird thing I do sometimes, where l need to have the TV on in the background while I'm reading, but whatever I'm (not)watching needs to be thematically similar to my book. Tonight I watched The Forest (2016) and The Ring (2002). #BookSky 💙📚🩸

AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”

Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

working on a theory of history called "the worst guy" theory basically whatever movement you create will eventually come to be controlled by its worst guy, and will likely be defined by its worst guy, so you gotta be really vigilant about figuring out where your threshold for worst guy is

I have to finish my book today, because I accidentally marked it as finished in my StoryGraph when I meant to mark a different one. I'm just past the halfway point. It's a race against time!

Why would I want to watch an AI video trailer for a book? I feel like whoever came up with that idea fundamentally misunderstands their audience. And books.

You know, when you find out that the art you like is made by people you've learned hold views you find wholly repugnant, I don't think you need to disavow ever having enjoyed the art. It's okay to acknowledge you liked or loved that art, but are now putting it aside. That was then, this is now.

This week I received a book that I apparently preordered in June but I have no memory of doing so...and not only that, if you'd asked me I would have said I'd never heard of the book or the author. This is a first, even for me. #BookSky
