I am so lucky that I get to spend every single night holding the woman I love. I'm not sure how I would've gotten through everything that happened this year if I didn't have her to make me feel safe at night.
im really hoping this is the end of the “trans man gotcha” argument. people didn’t listen to trans men when they asked us all to stop it, but this should bring the reality into sharp fucking focus.
Alejandra Caraballo@esqueer.net · 16h agoA trans man in the UK has been banned in the workplace restrooms after he was forced to use the women's restrooms to comply with the new EHRC guidance. The women complained because he is visibly male and so they told him he can't use any bathroom.

"Brother in law is trans FtM and presents fully as a man. He's now facing an impossible situation at work with his employer telling him that due to recent legislation he must use the toilet of his birth gender. BUT several female colleagues have raised a grievance about him using their gendered toilet.
His employer has told him that he cannot use the toilet while he is at work until they sort it out and cannot give him a timeframe to do so. They do [cut off] have disabled separate toilets.
In the mean time one of his female colleagues has accused him of sexual harassment because he was used their gendered toilet. His menstrual cycle meant he needed to use the toilet.
He's been with the employer for just over 5 years but only in this location for 18 months. The location is mainly male with just a handful of females, and his workshop only has male toilets.
I do not know how to support him and as he's not in a union there is no one to turn too right now."

The idea that no one wants to be chubby or anything but rail-thin is laughable and offensive, and I'm mad that it's coming back now.
Men will send me emails like this and then go rampaging on the streets of Dover and Portsmouth claiming they want to keep refugees out in order to “PROTECT OUR WOMEN!” Not a single one of the young male refugees I’ve worked with has ever spoken to me with such violent misogyny.
These are some pretty serious accusations - I understand why "bringing the party into disrepute" is a useful tool to get rid of people who are damaging to your political movement - but if it was done for transphobic reasons? Fuck that.

For me the big appeal of trans Petra Parker isn't just a fantasy of a transfeminine super hero- it's a fantasy of a world where even the worst supervillains and tabloid journalists are supportive of trans people and our right to exist as ourselves.
