Accidental Ms Rachel cosplayer. Deliberate bookworm.

Nigella Lawson taking big bites is exactly why I enjoy seeing her on TV so much. I do not wish to see any "Nigella is scared of spoons" discourse 😂

Watching Bake Off again because my love for Nigella overrides my hatred of Paul and Noel. Fave moment so far "the fear of the unmoulding grips one". It surely does Nige, it surely does.

Watching your dog get older is so painful. What do you mean that's my tiny puppy baby that I brought home in a cardboard box? Now she's tucked up on the sofa under a blanket because she has arthritis. That's my puppy grandma I guess, grumpy little baby dog 🥹

Our neighbour has a motorbike that sounds like a chinook is taking off from their garden whenever they ride it. That does not sound good for the motorbike. Is the motorbike hurt? Should we call the RSPCMotorbikes?

My child isn't autistic but: She is watching one of only two snake documentaries she likes, in the shirt she wore to her friend's house last time so she needs to wear it again, with a timer for going out. I need to put her socks on so there's "no lumps only smooth". But sure. She's not autistic.

School: remember to talk to your children, here's 3 fun ways to actually engage your offspring! Read! Talk! Play! Also school: they need to do homework, yeah on an app, yeah where YouTube is, & games, & the screen you're not supposed to let them see. No there's no worksheets.

Any environmental credentials Andy Burnham had are fast disappearing - drilling, arms supply, water nationalisation, data centres policies all designed to enrich fossil fuel, weapons & tech billionaire climate mass murderers "Labour - for carbon emissions, droughts and tech bros." via Zack Polanski

Whatever you do, don't watch Wild Robot with your young children just before they go back to school. A LOT of tears. But it's a bloody beautiful film ❤️

Parents at Kiddo's school keep saying things to me like "well, we both have to work so it's different" & "well, I work full time so could you.." Fascinated to know how they think we afford a house & cars. Which one of us do they think works? What do they think we do?

Love seeing a colleague I used to enjoy working with and respect start using AI and become the kind of colleague who turns up under prepared and relying on AI slides they haven't bothered to check. And by love I mean hate with my entire professional being.

The idea of not being able to contact someone for an extended period of time feels profoundly unnatural and yet nothing could be more natural. What's unnatural is having a device in your pocket that connects you to the entire fucking world 24/7 and serves up content specifically chosen to upset you

Dear whoever designed those cute little ballet pump bridesmaid shoes, Why the fuck would you make them SO CUTE & yet attract SO MUCH DIRT while also being basically uncleanable. I hate you. Signed the mum of a kid that wants fancy things & to also grub about climbing stuff 😫

A reminder that the UK Government continues to support the Iran war through the use of our bases to launch strikes. A serious attempt to end Rip off Britain would mean withdrawing our support for Trump's war immediately.

UK inflation rises to 2.9% as Iran war drives up energy bills

Zack Polanski, "If we decarbonise by 2050, that would cost less than a single (fossil-fuel) energy shock" "We've now had two energy shocks in just a few years" "We cannot keep waiting, we cannot keep hoping for magic technologies - it already exists, what is lacking is the political will"
