I am delighted to share that I’ve been honored with the 2026 Clarence Stone Scholar Award from the APSA Urban and Local Politics Section, which also awarded my dissertation Honorable Mention for Best Dissertation. I’m so honored to be recognized by my fellow local politics scholars!

My thoughts are with colleagues and friends at Brown, and with their loved ones. Another day, another shooting on a college campus in this country. This kind of violence is preventable if only our leaders had the courage and moral clarity to act.

This bill is do-or-die for California. Check to see if your state senator is one of the outstanding votes and urge them to do the right thing for the future of California and the country. If you're one of Wahab's constituents, call her office and tell her what an embarrassing dipshit she is.

LA buds, roughly speaking if you live east of Fairfax and north of the 10, you live in Sen. Durazo's district. Give her office a call at (916) 651-4026 and urge her to support SB 79. It will take 3 minutes and it's the most important thing you can do politically today.

Senator Durazo parrots the equity arguments, concerned that the bill will allow for the creation of market rate housing *at the expense of* affordable housing. Author's note: to be clear, it will not do this
