"don't cite what you haven't read" remains the basic entry level academic responsibility; & if your discpline "doesn't have that as a norm" then sorry, your discipline needs reforming for this new world. Citations are structural parts of trust and knowledge building, not trinkets or optional extras

Academics and technologists are sounding the alarm about a growing crisis in scholarship as we know it: AI-generated citations of nonexistent papers that have infested real journals. Despite being fake, the sources are widely assumed to be authentic the more they appear in published literature.

Sen. Ossoff: Tonight, Donald Trump, the world's most famous sore loser, will deliver a prime time presidential sour grapes address to pursue his 6-year-old grievances about the 2020 election.

I'm not a Mainer, and so I cannot speak for them. But I know that we visit every summer, and the state is cool as hell while being pretty anti-establishment. They also love their breweries. This is good from Kleban.

For too long, this race has been about everything but Susan Collins’s repeated failures to do what’s right for Maine. That’s unacceptable when Mainers are literally paying the price for her destructive leadership. Gas and groceries are out of control while Collins supports Donld Trump’s economy. She voted to confirm the judges who overturned the legal right to abortion. We deserve a Senator who will fight for us, not one who enables Trump at every turn.

I’ve been overwhelmed by the countless calls from Mainers encouraging me to consider this race. I love Maine and everything it has given me. This is where I started and grew a successful business focused on doing what’s right for workers and our community. It’s where my wife of 22 years and I have raised our teenage twins. And after talking with them, I’m in.

I’ve spent years talking to Mainers over a beer in our taproom and throughout the community. We’re all sick and tired of a system that’s been rigged by corporate interests, and we’ve had enough meddling from Washington establishment insiders and New York City consultants trying to dictate who represents us. It’s time for a new generation of leadership in Washington, one that’s not beholden to the establishment that has failed us time and again.

Over the next two weeks, we need an open, transparent process to select our nominee. I’m ready to fight for Mainers and bring a new generation of leadership to Washington. I believe I can unite our party and finally defeat Susan Collins in November.

Suddenly, they looked like the USMNT I’ve been watching my whole life. Timid and always on their heels. Hard to imagine that the last two days weren’t a distraction. Everything Trump touches withers on the vine.

Trump celebrating Balogun’s eligibility to play for Team USA when his administration would strip Balogun’s citizenship tomorrow if he didn’t play world class soccer is really a chef’s kiss.

Every day in America: The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that the President can use taxpayer money to skin puppies for his coats. In a 5-4 decision, they did uphold the right to vote for women. Whew! What a glorious institution!

The Supreme Court today addressed one of the most pressing threats to the nation today: banning this high school sophomore from playing school sports with her friends 🫡🫠🙃
