OTD in history, the battle of Killiecrankie was fought. It was fought almost entirely by highlanders on both sides. The Jacobites were led by John Graham of Claverhouse or Bonnie Dundee and Cameron of Lochiel The Government forces were led by Major- General High Mackay.

The sheer drabness of medieval life. They had colour! They loved colour. Almost every representation of Scotland in a historical film. They had colour/ furniture/ universities etc!

Can you think of a movie/ tv trope that is a wildly inaccurate representation of what they’re trying to depict? For me, it’s science stuff . They’ll show a scientist and say something like “ he has a ph. D in molecular biology “ and then have him solving physics or organic chemistry problems

I am reading a book set in a fantasy but recognisable England therefore I find myself more than a bit annoyed that the author hasn't googled what university in the UK is like Still not as annoying as the chipmunks in 14th century Scotland though.
