Silver's comments and actions re: Dundon have made it clear he views his job as advancing owners' interests, not the fans', and the *only* reason he's supported a salary cap is that lots of owners support having an excuse not to spend he sucks!

US sports have sadly evolved past the need for All-Star games 1. Despite necessary pretense otherwise, they're exhibitions 2. Players' health is too valuable to risk in an exhibition 3. Players do not try hard enough to risk injury 4. Pretense is dropped 5. Fans no longer care, it's an exhibition

that's probably good for this game as spectacle but it remains very, very, *very* silly an event of this magnitude can be so altered by an incident that has ~nothing to do with the actual playing of the game of soccer
