During the campaign, all the dehumanizing language and scapegoating of Haitians was minimized by so many. They’re just campaigning. They don’t mean it. They won’t actually do anything. When someone tells you who they are, believe them.

The end of TPS was only finalized a few days ago and it is only now starting to break as they are losing their jobs and being detained and feeling the heft of this wholly fucking evitable human tragedy that some of the worst people on the planet have brought upon them

It has been 7 months since the @portlandmercury.com requested public records from Dan Ryan’s office for the text messages he exchanged with Brian Owendoff during the course of a city council meeting. Correct me if I am wrong - I don’t believe there have been any updates.

There's been a lot of talk about Dan Ryan's apology to the @portlandmercury.com last week, but he didn't follow up on what was a damning revelation from @jeremiahhayden.bsky.social's 1/13/26 article on just whose interests Councilor Ryan is serving. 1/4 www.portlandmercury.com/news/2026/01...

Dundon is demanding the city give up something completely unrelated to a new deal. They’d require us to abandon all leverage we’d have if the new owner did the thing he swears he isn’t going to do. The only reason to be this obtuse in negotiations is if you are not interested in getting to “yes”.

Portland Trail Blazers officials told city councilors the city needs to do more than just help fund a renovation of the Moda Center if it wants to assure the Blazers’ long-term presence in Oregon.

Still waiting for @councilordanryan.bsky.social to address this. Perhaps, as some think of the Epstein files, Ryan hopes it will just go away.

Absolutely reprehensible that AG Bondi is offering ICE stand down in exchange for access to voting rolls. Outrageous and disgusting. It shows ICE is in Minneapolis is not for law enforcement purposes. Instead it’s a way to stir up shit in blue states and extort them.

In the wake of another fatal shooting in Minneapolis. AG Pam Bondi sends Gov. Walz a letter today making several asks including: "Allow DOJ Civil Rights division access to state voter rolls"

I've been thinking about how many videos I've watched that started like Renee Good's & Alex Pretti's. People pulled from cars & accused of obstruction, grabbed after filming agents, accused of punching agents, ramming cars despite video evidence. Shot. They survived. But the arrests were brutal

one does wonder how many low info trump voters are about to be extremely shocked that their strategically named state medicaid coverage is about to be taken from them, because it’s definitely not zero

I say a lot of things are “unbelievable” that are probably not actually unbelievable. But finishing this legislative session without any transportation bill whatsoever, after preparing for it as the top priority long before the session started, that *is* unbelievable.

Republicans are not interested in governing. This has been obvious for a long time. And yet, Dems compromise and compromise (enraging their own voters and constituents) only to get the finger in the end. We need new tactics. New reps. A new party. New everything. New anything.

When we won a supermajority in the legislature, I thought we might use that to show the country what we can do when we have power. I feel deeply disappointed about the state of Oregon politics right now. Underfunding education, attacking preschool for all, and neglect transportation. What’s next?

Well, folks, there is a bill called HB 3402 that has two supporters: Governor Kotek & ODOT. In opposition: -aviation -transit -cities -counties -active transpo / safe streets -electric vehicles -climate & enviro justice It's a betrayal. Progress will be lost. Jobs will be lost. Lives will be lost.

In all the coverage of P4A since its implementation, I’ve been surprised to see very little about the families who benefit from the program. Now, they’re speaking out (along with county commissioners and other advocates).

I wont lie I was initially worried (possibly just biased for Evander) but after digging into Costa more today I am moved. His face value advanced numbers are iffy, but he also has had little playtime. His ball progression is impressive and he is rapid. He will cook #RCTID youtu.be/44V_2ShPFTQ?...

I am so happy that we got to watch Evander. I am happy that the Timbers didn’t sit on their hands as has been customary. I’m excited for what I believe will be a new identity, higher, more pressure, more cohesive football from back to front. Onward Rose City. #rctid

I was very disappointed to learn that the City had made the administrative decision to issue the statement of compatibility for this project. While I understand why the decision was not brought to the City Council as a matter of procedure, I believe that this was a missed opportunity for leadership.
