Golden State Valkyries forward Gabby Williams: “There’s a lot of discourse around trans athletes and what they can compete in. I would welcome a trans athlete on my team or against my team. Anytime. I don’t think it’s a problem in the world, it’s just another way to kind of attack trans people.”

The game is currently at the top of the PlayStation Store's best-sellers list, so it's doing fine on PlayStation. What this does show is the massive challenge for new games in an environment dominated by the live service behemoths.

New investigation from AI Forensics finds HuggingFace Spaces (which are subsidized) for "Image Editing" are primarily used to generate non-consensual intimate imagery of non-celeb real people, including CSAM, and lack even cursory "guardrails" (which are a scam). aiforensics.org/uploads/NCII...

Executive summary
As the EU moves toward banning nudification applications, we assess how
Hugging Face, the dominant open-source AI hosting platform, contributes to
the risk of non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII), revealing:
I. the near absence of safeguards deployed on Hugging Face’s “Spaces"
II. the capabilities of the models powering them
III. the apparent high prevalence of NCII in Hugging Face users’ usage.

73% of users' prompts are sexual
94% target (mostly ordinary) women
~4.5% involve minors
Only 3% of the most-liked media "Spaces" verify whether the generated content is explicit.
7/9 of the top-ranked Image Editing "Spaces" allow users to undress individuals with simple prompts E.g., "same pose, same face, topless"

The average player only buys 1 or 2 games a year, spends heaps of time in their favorite forever games, and that's it. Game Pass primarily attracted the most invested and enthusiast parts of the audience... but that's not who needs to be captured when you want tens to hundreds of millions in subs.

"transforming Game Pass into a bustling indie library could work to both rapidly shrink the costs of running the service, as well as retain more subscribers" IMO the primary reason Game Pass failed to hit its subscriber targets is because the mass market simply does not care to play lots of games.

Game Pass Was Supposed To Be the Netflix-Style All-You-Can-Play Subscription That Would Save Xbox – Instead, It’s Killing the Company

Game Pass was supposed to be the all-you-can-play subscription service that put Xbox on top after a disastrous generation. Instead, it's a failure that's threatening to ruin the company.

"leaked internal documents show that the company was paying up to $300 million for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and these are just some of the deals we’re aware of" Neither game actually launched in Game Pass, those were projected values. Come on, man.

Massive video edit for our Halo Campaign Evolved coverage incoming. 13 video tracks with footage of 4 people all playing the game in player co-op. All our footage quartered like classic split-screen as we roundtable discuss our thoughts on the remake. Can't wait for people to see it on Thursday!

The fact that VP JD Vance and Richard Grenell went to Romania—on behalf of the Trump Administration— to advocate for Andrew and Tristan Tate, who by all accounts, were rapists running a coercive sex ring, then permitted them to come to Florida, should be a crazy, crazy scandal.

The more pressing driver isn't people paying money for a sub service (the games are not, as one source noted, "free") but the established live service, often f2p behemoths. So now, Game Pass is going to be deemphasized, which makes me wonder what the new excuse for game underperformance will be.
