I dont have the mental space to create things for sharing right now. The idea of making zines is so nice but my brain is in panic mode 24/7. Ive been doodling in nature, carving wood and crafting but until im in a safe shelter my mind just cant enter a creative space. I think thats ok
since i'm talking about zines today, go make one! preferably printed. collect sketchbook pages, loose drawings, writings, shitty comics. it will teach you about the feel of paper types, spread design, the psychological/narrative of montage. edit at the end. then make another one
The moral of this being if you want to know how someone treats humans, look at how they treat humans

Everyone should be kind to animals. I like animals very much. There are people who are kind to animals and then hateful to humans. Just something ive been thinking a lot about lately. Saw a terrible story of a family who starved their kid but the dog was happy and healthy

Ive read stone butch blues and that resonated with me but there were a lot of generational differences that made some parts hard to relate to and imagine (still amazing book & required queer reading) Meanwhile... Pageboy... from talking about the "boy toys" at mcds and playing sega, it hits close
Not to soap box about this but i feel that ppl in the english indie comics space should hear it: creating doujinshi/self published comics without the stamp of a prestigious fair or an indie publisher does not make you any less of a comic artist. drawing comics makes you a comic artist.
