The New York Times is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire Letterboxd for roughly $330 million

Starting today, free sites have a more relaxed Content Security Policy, allowing widgets, third-party analytics, etc. The stricter policy was to prevent phishing. We now have a full-time moderation and support team to deal with this instead. Don't do anything too scary with it. Happy Halloween!

MyMedia has reached 100 users in less than a month!! :D Thank you to everyone who joined and has been using the website and giving me feedback, I appreciate it 🫶 With imports done, I'm now working on manual entries for media that is missing in searches, and after that will be the Backlog feature

I wrote about this new update on my website :) jessgaspar.dev/devlog/mymed...

So many people's starting point to coding was "I just wanted to customize my MySpace page". If you make it worth learning, people learn.

people are smart! back in the day, lots of non-technical folks figured out how to set up personal websites for all kinds of things, before blogging tools. the barrier isn't technical knowledge, but undoing 20 years of how walled gardens have defined things like "accounts" and "contacts" etc.

very excited to read both of these 🪐📚

I'm old enough to remember when going online felt like a fun little treat and I just want to get back there. I want everyone to be there with me.
