What is ironic to me is that Warren Harding is just like Trump. Just look up the Teapot Dome Scandal (sound familiar)?
this is so incredible I can’t stop laughing because he forgot to include Reagan

As a researcher w/a #disability and someone who also takes the time to participate in other people’s studies bc research is important, please make your studies accessible. If they are NOT accessible then you have no idea what kind of data you are missing. 1/4
Please consider participating in phase 2 pf this important and timely study about students' experiences with accessibility/disability services in #highereducation! #disability #disabledinhighered
This study is being conducted by Cora Liu, a doctoral candidate in Rehabilitation Counseling at Illinois Tech, and has been approved by the IRB. See below for a direct link to the survey. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to Caro Liu (jliu185@illinoistech.edu) 2/3
If you want to understand how research in the #socialsciences has been impacted by the #TrumpAdmin, please read this thread. I cannot begin to express how difficult it is to do research in this day and age. #wasteandfraud #disability
As an undergraduate at Wheaton, I dreamed of a career conducting research on disability and higher education with the goal of improving access for students with disabilities. However, never in a million years did I imagine I would be doing this work during Trump. 1/7

www.motherjones.com/politics/202... Supporting research that improves the lives of persons w/disabilities is critical more than ever. @lurieinstitute.bsky.social has been a hallmark in advancing policies and research that supports the disability community. #disabilityrights

As somebody who is studying disability and higher education and has been impacted directly as a person w/a disability, this topic is near and dear to my heart. Please consider participating and sharing widely if you are eligible. #disability #disabledinhighered
Are you currently enrolled at a US higher education institution and have a disability? Please consider participating in a brief survey about students' experiences w/the accessibility/disability services office. 1/2
@asanews.bsky.social elections start today! I am running for a position on the Student Forum Advisory Board! If you want to vote for someone who is going to push for accessibility in every aspect of ASA, please consider voting for me for the @asastudentforum.bsky.social !
Today, another rideshare service denied me a ride bc of my service animal. These incidents are a frequent occurrence. It is enough! People w/disabilities deserve to ride w/dignity and respect. #serviceanimal #disabilitydiscrimination #disability #uber #lyft
Today, for the millionth time, I had an Uber driver literally zoom past me and my service dog, Jigg. As I was exiting my house to catch the Uber, the driver stopped, looked at Jigg, then took off - did not even stop for me. This has NOT been the first time this incident has happened. 1/6

And sadly, almost nobody in the media was paying attention to it. As somebody who has an older sister that worked as USAID contractor, I cannot begin to describe the anguish my sister and her colleagues experienced during that time, while Congress did nothing.
The current regime took a week to abolish USAID, which is three times as old and was not in the news every day for brutalizing children
#disability friends, does anyone have suggestions or ideas for resources on disability training centered on what to do if you see ICE? I just got word that ICE raids in Boston are expected to ramp up.
I wish we pushed for research on the political economy of academia more. It's what takes us beyond "oh why did this one person cite a fake journal article?" into "why do we have a system that rewards people who do not engage with prior research and simply churn out pubs?"
Thank you Boston Logan Airport! You just made a service animal handler very happy! #disabilityinclusion
Trump's shutdown of USAID has resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths, and the toll will only continue to grow. #Trump #TrumpIsUnfitForOffice #ImpeachTrumpNow #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace #USAID #cruelty #Wiles #depravity
Thread on #USAID. It is so vital to remember USAID and not to forget the role it played on the international stage.
As we wind down for the holidays, I cannot help but reflect on how difficult a year this has been for everyone in so many areas. For my family and me, this challenging year has hit us from all sorts of different angles. 1/7

I was not planning on responding to this post, but let me say this. Responses like this are exactly why we are still in this mess. When we refuse to express empathy, we lose our capacity for compassion. Lastly, when we lose both of those things then we miss out in our chance towards peace.
Since the 10/7 attacks, my life as a Jew along with many other Jews around the world has not been the same. I’ve faced virulent antisemitism from both the left and right and today’s shooting in Sydney just feels like the final nail in the coffin for me.
The mass shooting at a Jewish celebration at Bondi Beach in Sydney on Sunday was carried out by a 50-year-old man and his 24-year-old son, Australian officials said. Follow live updates.
I was literally just discussing this today w/a friend, as somebody who is in the social sciences (social policy to be exact), it feels like we are getting the short end of the stick. On so many fronts, I am seeing colleges and ppl, “be like let’s do away with the social sciences!” 1/2
I read this as like, “Accessibility is wasteful!” 🤷🏼♀️ #disability

If anything in some instances the HHS secretary does NOT even know anything about accessibility. At one of my previous institutions, the president was the former HHS secretary and had no idea that there were NO such thing as registration papers or certificates of service animals.
Disability education should not be put into HHS because it's not a health issue, it's an education issue. The idea that disability = health is dehumanizing and, frankly, simply wrong.
If you ever wondered what GOP gerrymandering looks like in red states with blue cities, I present:
If you are reading that article that thinks too many students get accommodations & feeling like maybe it has a point, you should instead read @dorfmandoron.bsky.social's "Fear of the Disability Con" (www.jstor.org/stable/45284...).

As somebody who was born and raised in the suburban Atlanta area, all I can say is that this is amazing! The #democraticparty needs to take note of this and that the Deep South is an area to be watched.
NEWS: Democrat Mary Robichaux has defeated Republican incumbent Kurt Wilson in a runoff election to become the next Mayor of Roswell, Georgia. A major upset and another sign of shifting suburban politics in the South.
Even by the standards of The Atlantic, this is an extraordinarily weak evidence base for an article. Data from a tiny handful of schools that isn't measuring the variable at issue and a few thin, secondhand anecdotes. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...
This recent article, published in @theatlantic.com , offers a gross one-sided misrepresentation of students w/#disabilities requesting accommodations. The author argues that many students are “faking” their disabilities to receive extended-time testing, especially at elite institutions. 1/6

Silly question to ask left hand folks… does anyone have the recommendations for the best pens for left hand people? I love my fancy pens, but they always give me issues when writing. So instead, I am forced to use a pencil and get the “wonderful” smudge on my hand. #lefties #lefthandproblems
