Not to dunk on this but it isn't really true that the Hormuz oil crisis is driving a solar boom. Here's this chart updated to June of China solar exports, showing that the March spike in exports has subsided and was therefore mostly just export tax rebate effects.

They spiked to $4.5bn in March 2026 because a key China export tax rebate was removed, fell to $3.1bn in April - still high but possibly due to some spillover effects and deadline missing - and then are back to a normal-ish level of $2.2bn in May and $2.5bn in June.

Absolutely unbelievable how solar power has taken off worldwide during the Hormuz oil crisis. You don't have to hand it to him, but Trump may have done more to finally kick off a global civilization of effete librul solar users than anyone else in the West

The Saints have better weapons than they did a year ago. Through four practices, those pieces still are not working together consistently. We break down the timing issues between Tyler Shough, Jordyn Tyson and Chris Olave, the first-team offense's 3-of-13 day in team drills and what needs to change once the pads come on. We also go through the Day 4 practice film, including the early-down play-action shot to Olave, Spencer Rattler's touchdown to Bryce Lance, Jonas Sanker's breakup on Tyson, Pete Werner's play on Travis Etienne Jr. and Julian Blackmon's interception. This is possible to achieve but the EU has to fix its requirements to make sure the technology on the content is used. Require local content requirements on specific components, particularly battery cells, rising % through 2030 forces genuine manufacturing investment.

Ottawa is so cooked on return to office. We spent an hour and 10 minutes in traffic for what’s a 12 minute drive outside of rush hour. Makes me sad that OC Transpo has gotten so much worse, and people are not being allowed to work from home more often. God help all of us in September.

Really interesting story here. You know how the hyperscaler cowboys are powering their data centers with gas turbines? It turns out the demands of AI are not very friendly to those turbines. They're supposed to last 5+ years & instead they're wearing out in under 12 months!

A new Go Train line along the Alto route (whatever that is) to Peterborough would be a great idea. Arguably Peterborough needs a GO Train service more than it needs a highspeed train to Ottawa/Montreal. Other ideas include a GO Bolton Line (CPKC MacTier) but that’s not useful for intercity/Alto.
