Once again, if you use AI to "make" your movie, show, game, or book then I will not watch, play, or read it. You clearly didn't care that much about it, so why should the audience?

Tomorrow's Thursday, which means there's still time to subscribe to "Thursday," my weekly email newsletter. This week: The one scene in GRRM's books that influenced my writing, new movies from Michael B. Jordan and Lin-Manuel Miranda (not together, unfortunately), & more! buttondown.com/Thursday

I got a comment on one of my fics today that included the line "I hope u are still enjoying writing as much as we are reading🫶" I have the best readers!
I picked up dinner from a local taqueria tonight. I got three pastor tacos and one lengua. It was my first time ever eating tongue, and I wasn't at all sure what to expect. I ended up liking it very much!
Putting alt text was one of the first community norms I learned on Bluesky.
Some of my favorite people post some really cool stuff on here, but I don’t repost because there is no alt text. I really want to share your stuff, but inclusive means inclusive.
There is no version of yourself you could become that would satisfy the people who hate you. So you might as well be who you are.
Musical trivia: In 1984, Frankie Goes to Hollywood held both #1 ("Relax") and #6 ("Two Tribes") on KROQ's annual rankings.
Librarians (and @librarian.bsky.social in particular) are superheroes!
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
I love that the BBC (correctly) points out that Trump is speaking "without evidence" here. www.bbc.com/news/article...
Minnesota not Iran to blame for state's water issues, says Trump
The US president's comments come after cyber attacks on Minnesota's water systems earlier this week, with US media indicating Iran could be behind it.

Today's Refrigerator Kanji: mannenhitsu 万年筆 (fountain pen) At my younger daughter's request, I'm trying something different and showing several kanji in the context of a word. I think the combination of the literal meanings of the kanji in the word will be pretty memorable.

I just finished reading @neuranne.bsky.social's Tiny Experiments. (HIGHLY recommended, BTW.) As I was reading, it occurred to me that Refrigerator Kanji is an example of the idea she cites to "Learn in public." Every Refrigerator Kanji is a kanji that I've had trouble with that day.
