This is absolutely insane, I just rendered this effectively 3.1 billion triangles 900 frame 16 sample per pixel 960x540 animation in #RStats last night in 6 hours using the M1 GPU and #rayrender -- it would have taken a WEEK with the CPU renderer. Completely game changing for iterative work

I'll be stalking {stbl} a bit on CRAN and github, but please let me know if you use {stbl}, and if you find anything that could work more smoothly. And I guess it'd probably also be great to hear if you use it painlessly! #RStats #PositConf2026

I made it through my #PositConf2026 talk! The Design of Everyday #RStats Functions. Slides here: stbl.wrangle.zone/slides/every... The underlying 📦 {stbl} is on CRAN!

Happy to announce this little release of recipes! This releases comes with a new way to look inside a recipe partway through, a speedup for steps that are applied to many columns, and multi-column support in step_regex() and step_count(). opensource.posit.co/blog/2026-08... #rstats #tidymodels

recipes 1.4.0

recipes 1.4.0 is now on CRAN. This release adds a `stop_at` argument to `bake()` for inspecting a recipe partway through, makes `prep()` and `bake()` dramatically faster on wide data, and lets…

TIL you can print() intermediate objects in the middle of an #rstats pipeline🤯 ``` df |> print() |> process() |> print() |> plot() ``` Just added `return(invisible(x))` to my own print.generics. Very helpful to print a formatted results table and plot at the same time!

A screenshot from a Quarto document with code snippet:
```
df |>
    analyse_kinetics(
        method = "monoexponential",
        use_TD = FALSE,
        group_intervals = list(trial1 = 1:16, trial2 = 17:32),
        zero_time = TRUE
    ) |>
    print() |> # 😀
    plot()
```

Prints a formatted table of model result coefficients for the two specified "trials", and a plot with two facets showing observed data and modelled monoexponential curves
