👨‍💻 Indie iOS developer making iOS apps I want to use. Sometimes other people also want to use them 📲 trybarcodes.com

First contract of 2025....... falls through. (I'm fine! But always planning 3-6 months in advance is something.) I don't suppose you could use some Swift 6 training/workshops/consultation? I've worked with large teams all the way down to individuals. I'd love to talk!

Every podcast I don’t listen to is called “Achieving the Limit with Duff and Ween” and gets sold for 300 million dollars while every podcast I do listen to is called “The Movie Toilet” and begs me to buy a t shirt so they can eat food

Does anyone have any hacks for storing images in an iCloud database? I've recently added the ability to save photos to your card in Barcodes, and a few people have reported that once they add a few then the sync won't work to their watch. Am I missing something? Currently stored as binary data 😂

Friendly reminder that the only annual sale for Barcodes Unlimited ends very soon! Upgrade for 50% off with the Black Friday sale, until the end of Monday the 2nd Highlights: - Scan and store all your cards - Privacy first, no account just iCloud - Apple Wallet, Apple Watch & Home Screen widgets!

Because I am a marketing genius (NOT a fool who forgot he already owns TOTK) I am running an #indiesky promotion with a twist! First drawn winner can choose between a US digital copy of Tears of the Kingdom, OR a Lifetime promo code for Barcodes Please share with any loyalty card enthusiasts!

I recently learned that if we want to have a lazy var inside an Observable class in Swift, we need to annotate it with @ObservationIgnored to skip synthesizing observation logic for the property. I wrote a blog post with an example: nilcoalescing.com/blog/LazyVar... #SwiftLang #iOSDev

Lazy vars in @Observable classes in Swift

Learn how to resolve the issue of using lazy variables in @Observable classes by annotating them with @ObservationIgnored.

Really wish this didn't have to be right around ✨seasonal sales✨ every year, if I could manually change it I'd do it in a heartbeat I had an issue with moving accounts between countries last year and it was way too stressful

I only discovered Pricetag recently and honestly now I couldn't live without it. Easily some of the best money I've ever spent as an indie iOS dev Went through and updated pricing to better reflect purchasing power parity, and just now easily offered 50% off for Black Friday macpricetag.com

My app “The Assembler” is now available on iPhone, iPad and Vision Pro! Of all my projects, this is my favorite one, if you try it, I hope you like it too! 🫂🤩 I originally made it as an iPad app for Swift Student Challenge 2022, and it’s come so far since then. apps.apple.com/de/app/assem...

This is my current AppStore screenshots, I made them with pixelmator this time, so it’s multiple iPhones sort of moving over the screen A binary to decimal converter I made in SwiftUI on iPad that’s hidden in the “help” page of my app. (There is one for signed and one for unsigned integers)In 2022 I got to present my app to Tim Cook, it was in a Video call because of Covid. Also I hadn’t moved into my apartment so the whole room behind me is just empty. I only had my Laptop setup for that phone call because my room was too much chaos. This is one of the first sketches I made for the app, just in two colors (light and dark purple) and a badly drawn robot. It shows the layout of the app and has some features that I never actually made for it.
