Before I was born, my mother worked as a chef for a wealthy family as they vacationed for the summer. When my brother and I were old enough to appreciate it, she took us there to share this place that was special to her. A little island off Greece called Ithaca. Haven't been back in about 20 years.

I think this is a really great thread but also thought it was worth pointing out that you can identify as non-binary while being romantically lesbian, politically trans, relate to some people as a woman and others as a man and twist your body into whatever shape feels comfortable.

It’s become easy to feel detached from reality with the horrors of the news cycle over the last few years, IMO. Following the case of the ‘Ulm 5’ has been unsettling, but this thread from the POV of a friend lands the sinister and alarming nature of what’s happening and indeed *not* happening.

There's a lot of outrage directed at data centres right now and I wonder how many people consider how much less storage and bandwidth are required for audio vs video. We'd need fewer data centres if they weren't being filled with videos of two people sitting on Zoom with blurry living rooms masto
