This has been a hard day for various reasons, and the pile-on on Hank Green is a further upsetting incident. I have learned so much from the man over the years and admire his generous spirit, even if he’s stumbled into an AI pothole, hopefully temporarily.
Listening to books has surreal moments sometimes. There is a character in the book I’m going through now (Mick Herron’s 3rd “Slow Horses” book) named “Sly Monteith,” and I heard it this morning as “Slime on teeth,” which led to a few seconds of confusion. #audiobooks
As one commenter points out… This is a conspiracy, not a conspiracy “theory.” When people say “The roads were built for cars,” they act like it was God who did that, not corporations acting against the public good.

In the mid-20th century, auto and oil interests bought up electric streetcar systems across the US and systematically replaced them with bus routes and paved roads, funneling commuters toward private cars.
