I forget just how much ADHD meds not only help me focus easier, but be functional... I'm out for a few days. It's only day one and I can't even get out of bed without help. #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis crash as well as ADHD & Autistic burnout has started. IDK how I sustained myself before meds.. JFC

March 25th

A day that hasn't held importance to me almost a decade now, yet every March 25th, I hear the soft echos of a time when it did.
Trauma bonding with a sibling only a year younger than you then losing them to emotional distance and bigotry, is a different beast to battle.
I don't even know where to start with it all in therapy....
"So what brings you here today?"
How do you ease into all the trauma you and your sibling shared growing up?
You can't just unload 2 decades of it all in one session, can you?
That story would be hella immersing for the first 35 minutes then exhausting by the hour mark.
"...and if that wasn't bad enough, we were taught that this was normal! That every family us like this or worse. So just be grateful how lucky you are!"
Those words linger in the air over my head daily. How "lucky" I am it wasn't worse.
How I should just accept him as us because he suffered too, that's your brother!
Yes. That's my brother... the brother that turned to a life of self destruction unapologetically bulldozing anyone who actually tried to care about him.
A brother that chose hatred to fuel him no matter the cost. A fully grown adult that has the freedom, access and choice to try and be better. To apologize. To mend the ties.
The consequences of being no contact and/or shunned by a family member, your sibling at that, that you have wronged should make you feel something, right?
I have no way of knowing if he regrets anything. No way of knowing if he is even alive, until someone says they talked with him recently or saw him for a moment.
Today isn't as triggering mentally as years before. I even forget sometimes.. a lot of the time, actually, that I have a sibling.
I hope that one day we can reconcile, but I've let go of any expectations for my own sanity.
Wishing him a journey of self discovery, healing and acceptance. '
