BREAKING: This is gobsmacking. An arrest––for arson––has been made in the Old Trails Fire, which destroyed more than 700 homes in the Spokane area. A DNR fire investigator was able to locate the origin to w/in a 10 sq m area. The fire was started with nothing more than a butane lighter or match.

Major fire spreading in Spokane. I am keeping an eye on evacuation orders for particular areas. I'm not in the evacuation area. My heart is with everyone in danger, including medical workers.

If you’re reading this, something you can do to help the people around you is just make space to talk (and listen!) about the pandemic and how it still affects people. Just share experiences and try to fully understand each other.

I study sexual violence and I think people would be surprised by how often people still bring up COVID once they know they’re talking to someone who is willing to hear about trauma.
