SCOTUS announced its ruling today in Louisiana v. Callais, a case about racial considerations in #redistricting. @beckerdavidj.bsky.social points out that this fundamental overhaul of the Voting Rights Act ignores congressional intent behind a landmark law.

The DOJ is now 0-6 in its efforts to seize sensitive and protected voter data from the states. As I noted a year ago, every court has found that federal law does not give the DOJ the authority to bypass state authority to manage and protect their voter lists.
