While working remotely in New Zealand I have been fortunate to have explored the amazing range of geology here. From volcanos to glaciers and mountain huts to river caverns. I'm now looking forward to CLIC 2026 conference in Wellington!

Hi, I'm Joe a 4th year PhD student @utas.edu.au who is currently looking for a post-doc! My research has focused on reconstructing paleo-productivity and iron fertilisation in the Indian sector across the last 100 ka. Here’s what I've been up to across the last 4 years:
Utrecht Paleogeography model in prep! We're integrating our detailed reconstructions of orogenic belts and lost subducted plates into one plate tectonic and paleogeography model. We'll launch the updated Paleolatitude.org soon, and more tools for geodynamic, paleoclimate, and paleobiology studies!
This year I was privileged to have been awarded a postgraduate project grant from @anzic.bsky.social to support foraminifera-bound Nitrogen-15 analysis from Indian sector sediment cores at the University of Rhode Island (Robinson lab).
I had a great time attending my first international conference at #ICP15 in Bengaluru. Lots of great people, presentations and food! I also had a chance to present my recent work on Indian sector productivity and iron fertilisation.
