Worthwhile quote in attached image and alt-text revealing that 10% of those voting for him swung to him from Trump. The peace of mind that comes from affordability and economic stability is non-partisan and is alway #1 with the electorate.

Portion of reporting from Newsday's article:

Mamdani said 1 in 10 voters who elected him also voted for Trump, citing rising costs. He said 1 in 4 New Yorkers are living in poverty.

"When I asked those New Yorkers who they voted for and why, I met many who voted for President Trump. And they told me it was the affordability crisis, it was cost of living, cost of living, cost of living," Mamdani said. "And they said that they remembered being able to afford their rent, their child care, their ConEd, their public transit, more four years ago than they could in that moment."

If Mamdani wins I will leave New York. I will go live in one of the other 5 houses I have, perhaps the one in South Florida, or the one in Paris, or Napa, or Cabo, but I will definitely leave New York. I will keep my apartment, though, because it's awesome and New York is great. But I will leave.

Speaking on Long Island today, Sen. Schumer did not endorse Zohran Mamdani for NYC mayor, a day after he was endorsed by Gov. Hochul. “I met with him last week. We had a good meeting. We know each other well, and we're gonna keep talking.”
