So the Government is considering removing the health element for disabled people under 25, and offering them support to get into work instead. So WHAT HAPPENS to those whose disability means they CANNOT work? Half-arsed plans. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Key disability benefit for young people may be axed under major welfare changes

Burnham has pledged to end the triple lock. AM I wrong to think that this is in direct opposition to Badenoch who has pledged to continue it?
Anyone wonder what the guy who rang police about Fairford attack actually said? Suggestions in comments please.
I hear that the PL is getting ready to relegate #mcfc to the Rugby Prem.
I don't know how my other elderly friends on here feel but I am certain: the state pension triple lock needs to end. We need the money for other things,
Wonder what Man City's sponsors feel about the guilty verdicts. #NUFC
I see Opta predicts #NUFC will finish bottom this season.
Lewis Hall wouldn't have fucked it up like Reilly. #NUFC
Man City will drag it out for years, the penalties will be pathetic. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même. #NUFC
When I started in journalism, I had to have local knowledge of my patch - an area in the north of Darlington. BBC local reporters are expected to have local knowledge of a region - say the North-East. No papers have such local expertise any more. And now the BBC is planning to cut the latter.
Also, this would be a much nicer echo chamber if people would stop bringing posts from twitter over here.
Vocational GCSEs BBC education reporter Branwen Jeffreys there, pointing out that there isn't the money, and there aren't the staff to deliver what we pretend we do now, let alone what Burnham says he wants to do. And education secretary Lucy Powell is coming up in an hour or so. #R4Today
Too irritated to structure sentences properly
Watching frauds on newsnight. How come the public are fully expected and encouraged to live in debt, but governments are absolutely forbidden to run a deficit. Why? Because people living in debt is good for big business, and government spending is bad for big business.
Suggest first words from Burnham on meeting Trump. Mt guess is "Bugga me, you really are orange."
So one guy shouts "Free Palestine" on stage and the promoter says he has to go. Then the star of the show lists what is bad about Gaza and the promoter says ... "on you go"? Have I got that right? If so, the hypocrisy of both star and promoter is mind-blowing. #EdSheeran
Yes that penalty was weak. It would’ve ended the game if we’d gone in 3-0 at half time. I am still not convinced of Wissa. He seems to run around a lot more but his shooting skills for striker are piss poor
@chrisdhwaugh.bsky.social I'm not after you this morning, your report this morning is excellent. But it is spoiled by silly errors like those made by folks just out of NCTJ college. "Rapid-quick" is straight-forward tautology. #NUFC Tautology
Pleasing to see Arteta's face tonight. Pleased to see DeZerbi's face tonight. Very pleased to see Jaissle's face tonight. #NUFC
So much heart. So much shotblocking determination. Young Magpies show their steel. #nufc
