I witnessed scores of parents - many in SUVs - parking illegally on pavements and double-yellow lines directly outside two Enfield schools. Why are they allowed to get away with it? My story 👇

"According to the website Houses for Sale and to Rent, across Enfield borough as a whole the average price of a one-bed flat is £271,000 – meaning the new-build flats at Meridian Two are being marketed at nearly £100,000 above the average local value for similar-size homes."
Latest Meridian Water homes go on sale It comes despite some new homes at the Edmonton housing scheme's first phase remaining unsold over four years after they first went on the market https://enfielddispatch.co.uk/latest-meridian-water-homes-go-on-sale/
More homes at Meridian Water have gone on sale – even as homes first marketed *four* years ago remain unsold. The new flats are being listed at prices almost £100k above the borough's average. For this premium buyers get a lovely view of Edmonton incinerator. enfielddispatch.co.uk/latest-merid...

The perfect punishment for Man City would be a 60-point deduction this season (guaranteeing relegation) plus 30 points next year (guaranteeing no promotion), 16 in the third season (playoffs at best) and eight in the fourth. TOTAL = 114. (Plus a fine of £830.7m, obvs)
Rival clubs feel relegating Manchester City to Championship would not be enough

"One councillor, Bektas Ozer, was even accused of using the word “fascist” to describe Cllr Georgiou in response to his “commie” jibe, which Cllr Supple said was “uncalled for”" In fairness, both sides seem quite consistent in their open contempt for one another 👇

My optimistic take on the AI extinction debate is that it could just go the same way as space travel. After the space race and the moon landings, we realised it was all a bit too expensive and risky to go any further. Instead we built a lovely little space station through international co-operation.

Fair play to the wife of a Caribbean man and mother of mixed race children being informed by the BBC reporter that she’s in the minority in her community regarding immigration and responding with, “Yes, I’m surrounded by bigots.”
100% this, a rubicon has been crossed The Israeli govt has killed tens of thousands of people, including 20,000 children, over the course of just a few years - and have showed no accountability, no genuine remorse, and came under little meaningful intl pressure to end the killing
I think people like Kraft (and some responding to Ed Miliband's statement here last week) just haven't grasped how much sentiment has shifted in the last few years.
