FAO Farage and any other racist, far-right “patriot” trying to take centre stage for Remembrance Day… You can’t threaten ICE-style raids, detention centres, mass deportations and authoritarian torching of our human rights and claim you’re not fascists. Get off that stage. You dishonour their legacy.

I would just beg everyone, very much including elected Dems, to vigorously reject the words "retribution" & "revenge." Do not say them. Object when others say them. That's not what's happening here. The words you want are "accountability" & "rule of law."

“For years the right in the UK have bet on the idea that the rise of Trump signalled an irreversible shift towards billionaire-backed authoritarian populism.” Elections in Serbia, Brazil and now the US show us all that our votes can - and must - prove them wrong. open.substack.com/pub/adambien...

The Time Is Running Out for Donald Trump’s British Cheerleaders

For years UK right-wingers have tied themselves to the US President’s ship. Now it’s sinking fast

Nothing America did yesterday can make up for all the harm we have done to our neighbors in Canada and Mexico, our allies in Europe and Asia, and vulnerable populations in South America and Africa. Just know that we intended yesterday as the first step in a long-term redemption.

The reaction to Shabana Mahmood's immigration 'reforms' shows exactly why this is such a dead-end for a Labour government. Lambasted by the right-wing press, hated by the left and ruinous for all those people actually affected by them. Pleasing nobody, whilst making everything worse

The whole principle behind Shabana Mahmood's proposals is repellent. The idea that we value humans by their pay rate rather than its need for society. Why should a care worker wait longer for citizenship than a banker, or a nurse longer than an HR manager?

Jenrick is just a liar. But #r4today focused on the cost of immigration, not the benefits. Great to be starting a more honest debate on Brexit but we urgently need a more honest debate on immigration too. The vast majority of immigrants come here to make a life and to contribute. Racism is ruinous.

I can't believe Burnham would be stupid enough to give British citizenship to 400,000 people just 6 years after they came here.
That would cost us hundreds of billions of pounds if they stay forever.
It would go down as one of the worst decisions in modern British history.Skilled migrants
'contribute billions more to UK than they cost'
Shabana Mahmood's plan to toughen immigration rules could be scaled back after a think tank's calculations on the net gain from skilled workers.

It's humiliating that the UK isn't right in the middle of this. We're in the G7. Permanent members of the UN security council. A nuclear power. The world's 6th biggest economy. And nowhere. Isolated by stupidity. Sidelined by xenophobia. Diminished by empty nationalism. Well done, Brexit.

We are launching a new Alliance for the Future — a partnership that will bring together Canada, the EU, and other like-minded nations to address common issues and build our collective strength.

So, BBC Question Time yet again has Zia Yusuf on But #bbcqt has always favoured Farage’s parties During 10 yrs when Brexit was a key issue, they had UK Members of the European Parliament on 50 times: - ALL pro- Brexit - 47 from Farage’s parties (45 UKIP, 2 BP) - 0 from LAB, LD,Green,SNP, PlaidC

Note to Badenoch… You plan to leave the ECHR which means renegotiating the Good Friday Agreement and the Brexit deal, as well as the improvements Labour has made to that deal. Not so much “reopening the Brexit debate” as blowing everything up and starting all over again. Now THAT is a terrible idea.

Reopening Brexit debate a
'terrible idea': Conservative leader Badenoch
"Can you imagine having to go through that again? So much time lost arguing with ourselves, arguing with the EU, going round and round in circles... I think that is a terrible idea," Ms.

I really hope that European states are waking to the reality that they are on their own with Ukraine--with Canadian help. The US is now their enemy and China is not their friend. They desperately tried to pretend this was not the case, but the time for illusions must be over.

Bad day for the far right and that includes Elon Musk who threw £400,000 in the pot for his defence team... and every single politician and pundit who has excused Tommy Robinson or sought to portray him as anything other than the grifting thug he is.
