Oh I fucking loved this movie. Watched the new UHD release (I waited for years to see this one just to see it on the format) and I'm glad I waited. The creative and design energy here is as good as it gets, man. This is tremendous 50's Atomic Age sci-fi at its best.
As much as The Witcher 3 is among my all-timer games, the itemization / gear progression is 'not' my favorite thing lol.
I never put a remake as GOTY, but this 'was' tied for my favorite game of 2023. it's currently on sale for like 11 dollars. @nightdivestudios.bsky.social did a fucking incredible job with this one.
It's that time. "I am the Night," oil and pencil on canvas, 2008
Got this sucker in and can't wait for a re-watch. A movie that never ever has failed to make me laugh and cry. How we all miss Robin Williams. @marawilson.bsky.social was adorable in this as well lol.
new Dinosaur Jr. record. Forever a fan of J Mascis.
With Nevermind turning 35, I've been cranking a bunch of these this week. I tend to prefer rawer, messier Nirvana personally, but it's still a great record.
When it comes to RPGs, when I do something in the game that the scripting doesn't account for, I totally get it because all the permutations have to be 'so' fucking hard to pinpoint in a massive ass game, but it still irks me.
Years ago, I was playing someone's game and finished a quest in an unexpected way using stealth. It was one of the first times where I felt really rewarded for doing so and it was an awesome moment only marred by the scripting not accounting for it. The designer's response was to remove that option.
My favorite performance from this show.

When critics fawned over the Bowie mix of this over the Iggy mix, I really had to question their mental sanity. Bowie was an all-timer artist, but his pathetic shot at trying to tame the raw nastiness of The Stooges was about as fucking lame as it gets.
The Washington Post once got attention by cracking and exposing Watergate. Now, it's going viral with articles about whether you should drink iced coffee at interviews. What a comedown.
Control Resonant: Sing. Top-tier video game moments.
seeing 007, Control Resonant and The Witcher 3 all get path-traced releases in the same month and @dachsjaeger.bsky.social isn't around to lose his mind like some of us other PC-centric nutters is heartbreaking lol.
Wake up babe, Remedy's new Spider-Man game is out. Errr, I mean their new Infamous game is out. Uhhhh, their new 'whatever' is out. This game rules.
So whenever people bring up the debate around "what is or isn't art" IE: Ebert's famous VIDEO GAMES AREN'T ART ...my go-to response to this 'every single time' is you know what, whatever man, I just love human creativity.
I agree. Illustration is NOT art. [JDAMs the Sistine Chapel]

The perfect bridge from summer into fall / spooky time. This movie still rips.
So if you've played the Fallout games, you might recognize this cat. Her name is Boomer and my friend Ilya Nazarov did the cat paintings based on my cats. Unfortunately Boomer passed away yesterday. Her brother Galen passed away a few years back. She was a very sweet cat that loved everyone.
That empty meandering feeling after you beat a game that hits high as an all-timer for you. ...what do I do now????
As I get older with needing to really spread my time more carefully with games, I've had to really narrow down / pick and choose, and so at my age now, I 'know' my style and genres, and I'd say every genre I've adored since a young lad gets great new games made even now.
It's never someone saying 'There's no good games in [extremely specific subgenre]', though. And even those cases, they'd be wrong. It's usually sweeping statements that it has all been downhill since the PS3.
I love STALKER, and me 15 years ago would have had this #1 for his work, but these days, I think it's a toss-up between Andrei Rublev and Mirror.
everyone needs to TRY and watch STALKER full review: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cycM...
