Lately I've been thinking a lot about iconic freeware and shareware games of my childhood, and trying to track them down. Today I remembered Krypton Egg. I didn't have a copy of this myself, but I could play it on a PC that belonged to my mother's best friend. It seemed magical.

Sam Neill was one of those actors where every moment you got to see him on screen felt like a privilege. Nobody was ever more compelling and magnetic. His performance in In the Mouth of Madness, one of the smartest films ever made, is one of the greatest cinematic delights.
Watching human beings in tiny planes diving into roaring flames and billowing black clouds to help others. Like the inverse of the monsters who drop bombs on children. Heroes. Absolute goddamn heroes. Humanity at its best.
We live in an unspeakably bleak time. We are witnessing the collapse of democracy, of social cohesion, even of literacy. That's precisely why it's so important to keep articulating the value of human beings and human civilization. It doesn't have to be this way.
For anyone who was missing Episode 9 of Azathoth Blues on Apple Podcasts, it's back now. Why was it gone? Why is it back? Only the blind idiot god knows, and he ain't telling.
This podcast is so good, and it deserves way more attention than it got. Check it out if you like horror! @jonaskyratzes.bsky.social is amazing, truly.

After a big list of exhausting and serious problems to deal with today, I find a pile of horrible yellow worms - oh no, the cats are infected! How did that happen? They stole spaghetti from the kitchen.

Nolan has made some films I truly love and some I don't get on with. Always an interesting and ambitious filmmaker. That said, a bit baffled as to why The Odyssey appears to be set in Skyrim.
When you're done with Azathoth Blues, check out Gospels of the Flood!

Finishing up the last episode of Azathoth Blues Season 1 with Chris and... I don't know, I just felt really moved... I love these characters and these actors so much. One of my favourite stories I've ever told, up there with Gospels & Talos.

The fact that Chris went and got someone with an actual phonograph to record a video for the YouTube version of an audio drama that doesn't even need visuals tells you something about the absurd amounts of energy and love we've put into this project.

Lately it's become fashionable (again) for warmongers to pretend to be Christian. But Christ taught a specific set of ethical principles which is pretty remarkable in how radical it is: love your enemies and do good for them. If they harm you, do not harm them in return.
I love the words Jonas wrote in these audio dramas. Gospels of the Flood still echoes in my mind five years later. Azathoth Blues is filling, like a meal. Sincerely constructed, thoughtful and rich with intent. They deserve your attention, and you deserve their wealth of ideas.
Azathoth Blues is some of the best, most meaningful work I've done in my life. I realize that some of you only know me from games, but I'd be grateful if you checked it out. It's free on all podcasting platforms, Spotify and YouTube. azathothblues.com
